Making instruments!

We have been investigating how sound is made. We decided to make our own shakers and thought carefully about what sound we wanted to create. Some of us chose polystyrene pieces to create a soft sound. The shakers made with chick peas made a loud sound and those made with rice were a bit quieter. Here are some photos taken during the lesson.

Exploring Sound

We have been learning about sound in science. We explored different ways of making sound using our bodies and lots of instruments.

We explored instruments you can pluck, bang and shake. We made a lot of noise!

Heritage Day

In 1G we were given the country Zimbabwe to think about. We found out where to locate it on a map and what the weather is like. We also learnt about the amazing wildlife………………. lions, elephants and even giraffes! We had lots of fun on Heritage Day and dressed up in the colours of the Zimbabwe flag. The parade was great and lots of parents cheered us on – thanks!

Aerobics

We have been doing some of our warm ups for PE using an aerobic DVD. We have to follow the instructions carefully to find out how to do each movement safely. It is really good fun!

We have been thinking about instructions in Literacy. We learnt how they can be spoken or written and we use them all the time! We made a class ice cream sundae, which was great fun! We thought about what we needed and the order we had to make the sundae. Here are some photos to show you what we did.
